I was honored to experience the most amazing day at the 7th annual Standup for the Cure. Thank you to all who joined on May 5th, 2018 in Newport Beach, CA to make an impact in your community. All proceeds from this event benefit Susan G. Komen Orange County. Over 1,000 attendees celebrated cancer survivors and supported the healing energy of being out on the water together. A “SUPer” time was had by all! Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. (See the full list of our sponsors here).

A fantastic overview of the event and great photos are included in the article posted by SUPtheMag - take a look here. Thanks to Rebecca Parsons (words) and Jonathan Kemnitz (photos).

I loved the opportunity to meet so many first time SFTC paddlers and to share tips with more experienced paddlers at the InZane clinic with my sister, Shelby. Suzanne Yeo taught yoga and the doctors and nurses from Kaiser Permanente Thrive conducted breast and skin cancer exams in their portable "clinic" right at the beach.

My favorite part of the event is always the "sea of pink" when everyone wearing their pink SFTC rashguards hits the water and paddles together in the bay. There are so many smiles and so much energy among that community of survivors and supporters celebrate life. Another highlight is

Sharing this experience with my family is so much fun - GO Mom (the heart and soul of the event along with Judie Vivian)
